One of the biggest complaints from Corvette purists about the C8 has been the loss of the manual transmission. The mid-engine Corvette brought incredible performance and a lightning-fast dual-clutch transmission, but many enthusiasts still miss the connection of shifting gears themselves.
Rezvani Engineering may have an interesting answer with its new Quick Shift system. Rather than replacing the factory transmission, Quick Shift adds a mechanical-electronic gated shifter that commands the existing dual-clutch gearbox. In other words, it gives the driver the classic gated-shifter feel while keeping the speed and performance of the factory DCT.
Rezvani says C8 Corvette applications are in development, including the ZR1 and broader C8 lineup. The system is fully reversible, requires no permanent transmission modifications, and is priced at $25,000, with installation performed at Rezvani’s Irvine, California headquarters.
It is not a true clutch-pedal manual conversion, but for C8 owners who miss the look, feel, and engagement of a gated shifter, this could become one of the most talked-about aftermarket upgrades yet.
Would you add a gated shifter to your C8?
